Aye, I have a few moments. You'd like to know about our common room?

Well, it's situated on the east end of the Tavern and is as old as the stone underneath. Before Buckeye added a second floor to the Ivy Crown about 300 years ago, the common room was actually the bunk room where weary travelers such as yourself would be sleeping. Thank goodness for ol' Buckeye, I surely wouldn't want to share a space with some of you lot and the smells you bring along.

To the left of the room is, of course, Ciara, the ancient blue wood tree that grows up through the Tavern. Its roots stretch far beneath the tavern and it curtsies its leaves above. Some friends who dabble in magik think it grows over mystical ley lines. Mostly it just makes a royal mess each autumn.

The hearth was brought over after the fall of Pridemoor Castle, a gift for sheltering some of the refugees during their civil war. When that evil Lord Merkus pushed his folk to the edge, they took matters into their own hands and a nasty war kicked off. Funny enough, it wasn't the mob that got him. While under siege, Merkus grew painfully bored and began rearranging hunting trophies to liven up the mood in his throne room. While balancing on a ladder his silk slippers, well, slipped and impaled himself on a stuffed Burly Mountain Goat. Call me cruel but I think that's hilarious.

Tapestries

We've got a fine collection of tapestries collected over the years. The ones on display are my favorites as well as being the only ones that haven't caught fire.

'The Death of Sir Pulus' is meant to show the heroic, yet hopeless, final battle between a chivalrous knight and an evil Gryphon. Personally I enjoy the depiction of an arrogant noble meeting his end because he couldn't leave well enough alone.

'Alana, the Icon of Perseverance'. I'm not one for sitting in the pews but I have always felt a connection with Alana. When her husband and children were taken by the raiding Red Brigade, she defied her station and those who would doubt her to take up a sword. She battled through briar, beast and blades to return those she loved to safety. Since then the church has held Alana as the purest representation of perseverance against doubt, pain and sorrow.

'TheWandering Wyzard in the Whispering Wood'. This is a prime example of Elder Lynn's early work. It depicts a naive wizard in search of their former master in an aulde wood, those ancient forests where magik still flourishes. In her youth, Lynn seemed to be obsessed with sorcerers, mages and magik folk. Her series titled 'Young Eleanor and the Scarlet Wand' lead many young children to attempt incantations over still water in an effort at harnessing the powers from the beyond, not that I would know anything about that.
